Timing

For me writing is much – almost all – about timing. When I write and for how long I write. It´s almost like being pregnant. Things take time. Sometimes I sit in front of the computer angry, almost mad, and I can´t get a word on print. Then and there it´s so easy to forget – things take time. Then sometimes my fingers speed over the keyboard, it´s not going fast enough for me.

I´m at my best late nights. The later the better. At morning time I´m a dead zombie. Got to have my coffee, my breakfast, my shower, my thinking, have to straighten up my dreams from the night and the ones I have about the future. Then I start to think writing. Before I even get to the pen and paper it´s ususally after 6 pm.

Then there is the timing in the story. When people turn up, when things happen, when people do their thing. I use my feelings to get it right. Honestly, that´s the easiest part. Listen to the music within, and the concert will be beautiful!

What time during the day are you writing? Is there any time limit you have to keep, the minimum or the maximum? Why?
